Wharton Future of Work Conference brings together business and academic leaders to discuss collaborating remotely, inclusion, and other timely topics
PHILADELPHIA, March 30, 2022—The first-ever Wharton Future of Work Conference, organized by students and faculty at the Wharton School and across the University of Pennsylvania, will take place virtually on April 7, bringing together a slate of speakers that include Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella speaking with Wharton Professor Adam Grant; growth mindset pioneer Carol Dweck in conversation with Penn and Wharton Professor Angela Duckworth; and New York Times bestselling author and host of Revisionist History Malcolm Gladwell.

The Conference is organized by a team of graduate students from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, the Graduate School of Education, School of Engineering & Applied Science, and the School of Arts and Sciences who work in partnership with Wharton People Analytics staff and faculty co-directors Adam Grant and Cade Massey.
The all-virtual Wharton Future of Work Conference is a one-day event that will include keynotes, one-on-one interviews, and curated networking sessions. Sessions focus on topics essential for all, including Leading and Collaborating Remotely, How We Show Up as Individuals, Leveling the Playing Field, and What the Past Tells Us About the Future. Facilitated networking conversations are scheduled throughout the day, enabling attendees to connect with one another while exploring personally relevant topics around the future of work, including the pros and cons of the 4-day work week, managing team culture, the remote/hybrid debate, Zoom fatigue, regret, and leadership and inclusion.

The Conference will host a Case Competition in partnership with The University of Pennsylvania Human Resources Division to explore the impact of the Great Resignation and to better understand the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on employment patterns.
