This year international reporters can combine coverage of Pope Francis and World Meeting of Families with attendance at renowned Wharton training program
Philadelphia PA, August 20, 2015 — What: Through intensive lectures and hands-on exercises, the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists, led by the Wharton School’s most prominent professors, helps reporters gain a better understanding of key business and economic issues. Featured professors include Olivia Mitchell, Jeremy Siegel, Kent Smetters and Michael Useem; topics range from accounting and taxation to leadership, and the changing global business environment.
This year’s program, which follows the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia by less than two weeks, may provide a special opportunity for journalists to explore issues surrounding his visit—such as transportation challenges, economic impact, public policy, etc.–with Wharton faculty.
The Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists, now in its 47th year, offers participants an opportunity to expand their knowledge, increase their exposure to leading experts and broaden their perspectives in a stimulating setting.
When: October 11 – 14, 2015. Registration deadline: September 11.
Where: The Seminar will take place at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Huntsman Hall, 3730 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Eligibility: Applications are open to those who are employed or freelance full-time as a print, broadcast, or online business journalist for legitimate media companies.
