Intensive Program will Expand Financial Acumen of Senior-level Executives

Philadelphia, PA Dec. 14, 2017 – The Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has launched the Advanced Finance Program, a new, first of its kind program for finance professionals looking to accelerate their career advancement by significantly expanding their understanding of finance.

“Financial acumen is a key to successfully drive your organization forward in today’s economic environment. And as a worldwide leader in finance education, Wharton has the global perspective and analytical prowess unsurpassed by any other business school,” says Jagmohan S. Raju, vice dean of Wharton Executive Education. “The program offers a unique combination of rigor, relevance and flexibility.”

The curriculum of the Advanced Finance Program covers a comprehensive range of finance disciplines. Participants will choose six from the following one-week courses: Advanced Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation, Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity: Investing and Creating Value, The CFO: Becoming a Strategic Partner, Venture Capital, and Wharton Finance for Executives.

Participants have two years to complete the Advanced Finance Program while also benefitting from coaching and one-on-one feedback by Wharton’s team of expert executive coaches. Executives who would benefit from the Advanced Finance Program include those professionals working in roles where they need to significantly expand their understanding of finance or whose career mobility demands greater financial expertise.

“Wharton is renowned for its expertise in finance education. We understand the intricacies and implications that affect corporate finance, portfolio management, and international finance. Our programs are rigorous and designed for a high level of engagement with our world-class faculty,” says Professor David K. Musto, the Ronald O. Perelman Professor in Finance and chair of the Finance Department at Wharton.

The program targets senior finance leaders and high-potential managers in finance and accounting. Participants in this one-of-a-kind program will build a powerful network of peers and industry leaders, and upon successful completion will be awarded Wharton alumni status.

“Wharton was the best choice for my career goals — it’s already building the foundation for me to advance and hopefully realize my ambition to lead a company as CFO one day,” says R. Adam Lee, finance manager for L-3 Communications.
